HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HAVE A POLE BARN BUILT?

If you’ve been looking around online in an attempt to find out some pricing information on the cost to have a new pole barn, steel building, workshop, etc built; I am sure you’ve ran into some brick walls. Occasionally you will see websites that try to guess and give you some ideas on the cost to build but ultimately it comes down to your location, contractor availability, and the company itself.

I don’t want to give you another dead-end in your research. Many contractors are afraid to mention their pricing as they feel it is a trade secrete or that it can take away some of the competitive edge. When I’m shopping and I don’t see a price for something it makes me frustrated! I can only imagine you feel the same way. Please note that our prices are subject to minor changes, I do not follow closely as to what other companies are charging to have a pole barn built.

With all of that being said the base price for a pole barn can be as low as $20 per square foot. There are definitely limitations and minimums to this number. If you’re looking for a tiny building, $20 per square foot won’t work. What does $20 per square foot get you? For that price we can build you a basic pole barn with the following ammenities.

  • 8′ Ceiling Height
  • 4/12 – 6/12 Roof Pitch w/ basic trusses
  • Gravel Floor
  • 1 Overhead Door approximately 9×7
  • 1 Man Door Insulated w/ window.
  • 4 Double Hung Vinyl Windows
  • 0″ Overhand / Soffit Area

This is the basic setup that we start with for every pole barn, the most common additions to these buildings include but are certainly not limited to the following: electrical prep, plumbing prep, increased ceiling height, additional doors & windows, insulation, upgraded trusses, vaulted trusses, center storage trusses, mezzanines or other interior framing, concrete slab, special texture metal, insulated metal panels, seamless metal roofing or siding, commercial doors, stone veneer, and of course the overhangs, soffit, and gutters.

The most common building that we build runs between $30 and $35 per square foot and typically costs between $30,000 to $40,000 for a 30x40x10′ building. If you’re local to our area please feel free to reach out and grab a free estimate via email. We like to make sure our customers are on the same page with us pricing and design wise before we actually make a site visit so as to avoid wasting your time and our time if our numbers are way off.

A lot of companies I guess are okay with wasting their customers times and annoying them with their pushy sales tactics. Our buildings are great, we move efficiently, and we work to keep your whole process hassle free, we don’t feel the need to have salesmen pushing our wares.
